    No prerequisite. This training is intended for people who have no special knowledge of finance.

    Mungo Wilson

    This course, written by Pascal Quiry, will be delivered by Mungo Wilson, an associate professor of financial economics at Oxford University's Said Business School.

    Mungo holds a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University and priortobecoming an academic, worked as a lawyer in the City of London.

    He also teaches at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and at the London School of Economics.

  • Chapter 1 What is the purpose of finance? - It is a helicopter view of the financial field which allows to understand the role of finance and the behaviour of the main actors: investors, companies, markets, banks.
  • Chapter 2 Investor tools - This chapter explains the logic and usefulness of the concepts of capitalization and discounting, value, risk, diversification and rate of return. This being acquired, some simple illustrations and calculations are made.
